A home away from home for frontline healthcare staff

As we all lay low during the ongoing COVI-19 pandemic, we are pleased to announce that we have opened our hotel in Cork City to cater for frontline healthcare workers as they continue to go that extra mile to help protect the public.

The Kingsley closed its doors to the general public in mid-March and has 131 luxury hotel rooms and suites in total which have been made available to frontline healthcare staff in partnership with the HSE.

Well placed in the city to cater to some of Cork’s hospitals and residential homes, the hotel is near the Bon Secours and CUH among others and will allow frontline healthcare to isolate and rest as they continue to fight the spread of the Coronavirus.

Group Director of Sales and Marketing at The Fota Collection, Finola Twomey, added that the “hotel staff are honoured to be a home away from home for frontline staff while they continue to keep everyone safe.”

It is hoped that the idyllic setting of the hotel on the banks of the River Lee will provide healthcare staff with a calming and reassuring hub from which to feel safe during these uncertain times.

The Kingsley which normally caters for business travellers for corporate hotel events and along with the 5-Star Fota Island Resort, attracts mostly domestic visitors and families with the remainder of visitors originating from the UK, US and Europe.
