Polished and sophisticated, Cork’s newest hotel, The Kingsley, opens its doors on July 21st. A member of the Fota Collection, The Kingsley is a luxury four star hotel in Cork with 131 guest bedrooms, in an appealing location right on the banks of the River Lee and just a short walk to the city centre.
“It’s an exciting time to open Cork’s newest hotel with The Kingsley,” says General Manager of The Kingsley, Fergal Harte, “and having created 130 new jobs with the opening of the hotel, we are now looking forward to welcoming our first guests, both those who are staying with us and those who have come to experience one of our excellent dining offerings or an indulgent treatment in our impressive Spa. Business is bustling in Cork, the outlook is good, and we’re happy to be a part of such a positive news story for hospitality and for the city.”
The Kingsley’s logo is a kingfisher, an appropriately eye-catching and elegant little bird to be seen frequently along the riverbank and an emblem perfectly fitting this stylish and distinctive riverside hotel.
On the south side of Cork’s iconic River Lee, many of the 131 elegant rooms with contemporary décor at The Kingsley have uninterrupted views of the river, and the bars and restaurants at The Kingsley also take advantage of this wonderful riverside location, with airy, light-filled spaces maximising the marvellous views. They also reference the presence and influence of the river in their names – the chic Fairbanks Restaurant, the casual dining bistro The Springboard, and the intimate and classic bar Fishers, a tribute to the hotel’s appropriate and individual little emblem.
The Kingsley has substantial and attractive conferencing facilities, an extensive Health Club with an excellent gym, a large indoor heated pool and an outdoor hydro pool overlooking the river, and a luxurious Spa that extends over 2 floors with 12 plush and cosy spa treatment rooms.
The Kingsley also has The Residencies, a separate self-catering, fully serviced property adjacent to the hotel, with 18 two-bedroom apartments and 1 three-bedroom penthouse, all with commanding views of the Lee Fields and the River Lee.
“Cork is a strong and vibrant city,” says General Manager of The Kingsley, Fergal Harte, “with excellent corporate and leisure business, as well as discerning diners and spa-goers. At The Kingsley we look forward to becoming a firm favourite with our local guests and their families, as well as a home from home for our corporate and leisure guests. Our connections with the local area are very important to us, and we like to highlight them throughout the hotel where possible. At The Kingsley we will be delivering a fine product with a high service level and a strong Cork accent!”
