There was some great news recently when the Football Association of Ireland announced that our sister Cork hotel, Fota Island Resort, would play host to a training camp for the Republic of Ireland men’s senior team prior to their participation in the Euro 2016 tournament.
The luxury resort on Fota Island will provide the Republic of Ireland squad with the ideal training facilities on which to prepare for the eagerly anticipated UEFA European Championships in France over the summer months.
The planned visit will see the entire management, playing squad and backroom staff based in the 5 star Cork hotel and spa between the 30th May and 3rd June in the build up to the European Championships tournament.
The state-of-the-art training facility has already hosted a number of recognisable sporting organisations over the past few years including senior and academy sides from Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United, in addition to a number of Ireland’s underage international squads. There have also been come FAI Coach Education courses held at the facility.
With Manager,Martin O’Neill, and his assistant, Roy Keane, putting the likes of Robbie Keane, Jonathan Walters, John O’Shea and Shane Long through their paces along with the rest of the Irish squad; then there is sure to plenty of excitement and attention on our sister hotel.
