After extensive flood damage forced the hotel to close in 2009, The Kingsley was later acquired by The Kang family who invested €6 million in the hotel’s refurbishment. After an extensive refurbishment, The Kingsley’s doors reopened with the creation of 130 new jobs and the hotel has remained at the heart of the hospitality industry in Cork City ever since.
